Tennis Serve and Volley: Close IN to FInish
you have to judge the right moment--because if they lob and you take one step in...you are TOAST, but if they hit to you and you close in...YOU ARE THE MAN...

Singles School: Serve and Volleying Middle play
You have to make serve and volleying into a science. When you attack the middle with your serve, your opponent is in the middle so then, to finish, you have to open the court with a volley, pushing them to a corner, and then, finish with a secondary volley--and it might take an additional shot such as an overhead.

how alot of club players play unfortunately
I think they play like this because they can't volley. and unless, someone teaches you to volley, generally, you won't be able to volley. I was really lucky to be taught how to volley and then, as a junior player, I played with old guys who hit to me soft, so it allowed me to come to net--that was amazing as a junior player, playing guys that always got the return back, but it was so soft...and we were losing to these softies...

How to Serve and Volley
Shh... the biggest secret to serving and volleying. Once you're in the service box, it's all the same. You're going to get a forehand, a backhand, a body shot, or a lob--YOU ignore the body shot and lob--because you have time on the lob, and you're going to react on the body shot. Now you set your forehand to a specific shot and your backhand also. And that's it. Running plays also helps.
